United Arab Emirates to Host CISM International Symposium 2025 Under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum

Under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, the CISM International Symposium will commence in Abu Dhabi next Monday, October 20, with the participation of senior military officials, experts, academics, and researchers from around the world.
Held biennially in one of the member countries of the International Military Sports Council (CISM), the symposium comes to the United Arab Emirates for the first time in the region, under the theme:
“Physical Readiness and Resilience in the Armed Forces: Challenges and Foreseeing the Future.”
It is considered one of the world’s most prominent specialized events in the field of military sports, serving as a strategic platform for exchanging expertise and strengthening international cooperation on topics related to military training and physical readiness.
This year’s edition, hosted over three days at the Dusit Thani Hotel, Abu Dhabi, from 20 to 22 October, will attract more than 130 participants representing 35 member countries, along with 43 speakers who will present scientific insights and practical expertise on physical readiness and resilience in the armed forces through 39 specialized lectures.
The announcement was made during a press conference held in Abu Dhabi today (Friday) to unveil the symposium’s details, attended by Major General Obaid Ali Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the CISM Symposium 2025; Colonel Nilton Gomes Rolim Filho, President of the International Military Sports Council (CISM); Navy Captain Roberto Recchia, CISM Secretary General; Major General Rashid Al-Dosari, CISM Vice President for Asia; Brigadier General Ayoub Al Falasi, Head of the UAE Delegation to CISM; and Dr. Jassim Mohammed Al Zaabi, Vice President for Business Development at EDGE Group.
